ballistic tip problem

Every time load my powerbelts, the polymer ballastic tip comes off the bullet. Its gets stuck on the ramrod. Any fixes for this?

get the correct loading jag. I use one of my simple cleaning jags so that nothing grabs at the nose.

Thanks for the replies guys. That will definitely work for the range. Will this attachment be something i can leave on my factory ramrod during a hunt, in case i need a follow up shot.

You can leave it on there in the woods. I do and it still holds a patch if you need to clean real quick.

I keep one on my .45 and .50 inlines. The one on my .50 sticks past the end of the barrel just a hair but nothing major. The one on my .45 looks like it was made for it and sits under the barrel nicely.

I don't know if you are using a .50 or .45 BP gun, but when I bought mine it came in a pack of two. To make it fit my .45 barrel I just took a little sand paper to the outside of it. Didn't take much to make it fit. Would like to have one for my .50 sidelock also, however this would require me to buy another ram rod to use for hunting with it. I am just lazy and haven't got around to it yet.

I have a thomspon/center .50 cal triumph.

I personally do not like anything sticking out beyond the muzzle, so usually end modifying the gun's rod to accept the jag, or buy replacement ram-rod that you can make any length you want.

With a the Triumph rod you can modify the length and re-tap the end to accept the jag. I usually use the TC super Jag.

This a modifyied rod on my Knight with the TC Super Jag installed.
