TBH I've shot mine at 50 100 and 150. I hunt 100% in the woods with mine and am comfortable with it for that.
I have a 50 cal using 200grn XTP's. I use 90grns(I think) 777. I wasnt arguing with your results just surprised it dropped that far in the last 25yards is all. |
Hey Duckbutter, I know where you're coming from. I was surprised myself the first time I shot it at 175 yards. At that time I was sighted in for "dead on" at 100 and it was hitting a couple of inches low at 150. So I shot at a 8.5 x 11" target paper at 175 yards and didn't even put a hole in the paper. I thought I'd screwed up the shot - took another and still no hit on the target. So I taped the target to a large cardboard box, took three more shots, and had a three-inch group in the box about four inches below the bottom edge of the target paper.
Hey Mustela, I'm not sure where you're coming from. Are you implying it's not necessary to check your trajectory like that, or that the need is so obvious that the statement you quoted was unnecessary? |
