Just my luck!!!!!!!!

Well, looks like I might just be done for the year after all. Yesterday I loaded up the snowblower into the back of my car, (Focus Wagon) to go blow my Moms driveway out for her, and when I went to lift it out of the car, I felt something in my lower back POP!! Now I have never done anything to my back before, but I tell you what, I cant do a damn thing! The only way I can make it feel better, is lay flat on my back. So unless a miracle happens between now and Saturday, looks like it will sitting in the house watching deer shows on TV.

BigDaddy I feel for you, I have had a bad back since I played ball in highschool, and every now and then it goes out and like you Im on my back and cant move.
I found that heat applied then a cold pack and back and forth for awhile works the best of anything. Then follow up with some Tylenol Arthritic Pain Pills, muscle relaxers never seemed to help me at all.
Hope you get back on your feet quick, it's a LONG wait till next Season.

Oh, I forgot to mention the most Important thing........next time befor you ever lift anything heavy DO SOME STRECHES, Toe Touches, loosen up first. That's the reason for most back pulls the muscles are tight and when you go to use them there not ready for it. Or get some HELP!

Sorry to hear about your back! I sympathize with you. I have to go in for major back surgery on Jan. 12th. Been out of work since May. Take it easy and dont over do it. Cold pack always help me. Keep us posted.

I suffer from bouts of Sciatica from time to time. So I am very careful about lifting and working. When that starts up there is no description of pain I can think of. You'd thank someone who shot you it hurts so bad.

You be careful with that back. I would head to a doctor. They will put you on muscle relaxers and pain killers and you might not even mind missing the rest of deer season.. Real sorry to hear about your injury.

got your ears on

healed by saturday mornin

DONE!!!!

get 2 bags of ice from the corner store...put them in trash bags(no holes...)1 trash bag per bag O ice...

put towels in your favorite chair!!!!

make a back rest outta the bags O ice...maybe you need 3 bags..use towels and rags to make this as comfortable as possible..stuffing places so that you dont have to lean on the "hurt side" of your back.. ..maybe wear a t shirt for the first 30 minutes, this will help you adjust to the freezing cold but you need straight ice(through the bags of course)...you will be a lil edgy at 1st,like jittery or shaky, but this will pass as your back numbs...i usually try and get the places that dont hurt too,

laying on your back and leanin your legs from 1 side to the other helps me, and the "seal" looking stretch..ice 1st , then stretch, maybe more ice..usually after i watch a whole movie i can walk again..you just act as if you are hurt for the next 9-15 months, or it will go out again...so before you ice, go pick something up, remember how you did it without hurting as bad, cause thats the way you will need to act for a long time...you might feel better, but still act like your hurt!!!!!!!!

Yep, that would be a big ten four! I am a 42 year old guy in a 62 year old body. I am on so many different prescriptions for different things, you would think I was 80 years old. Luckely, one of them is a muscle relaxer. It actually feels not bad if I stay a little active, but if I sit down for a while, its a b i t c h to get back up.

not if you usually dont stretch...it will throw faster if ya dont normally stretch

I cant imagine suffering from sciatica Caygad. I know a few people that suffer from this, and its not fun.

Big D, it sucks getting older, I'll had back problems for years also. Meds only cover up underlying problems, find a good bone crusher for your back and get better. If I get a swamp donkey tomorrow Ill cut the butterflies out and come up and have lunch.:patriot:
