I'd seen posts by this guy before. I knew better than to respond to his question. I mostly lurk here too, and don't post much. Usually folks answer questions extremely well, and I learn alot from their posts.

I just get a smidge upset when I see folks bash a gun they've never shot,,,especially when the rifle in question would be best suited for the type of rifle the individual was asking about.

It's all good here.

I don't know much about inlines but if I were going to buy a production sidelock I would buy a Lyman Great plains Rifle in 54 cal or a Cabelas Blueridge if I wanted a longrifle.

I've owned 3 Lymans...1 in flintlock. I regret ever getting rid of them. Fantastic guns, and even better customer service if you need it.

A total shame that they don't make NEF Sidekicks anymore. That would have been my pick.

But I would go for the InvestArms Hawkens carbine in .54 cal. with a 1 in 24" twist. Great sabot/conical gun. Oh yeah, that is with shooting the real deal black powder a must!!!
