What kind of sabots would I need to get? That's one of the things that drew me to the powerbelts I didn't have sabots or anything to deal with. However, if they are that much better I might have to switch to them. Another problem exists right now... they may be hard to find, Speer just signed a multi-million dollar contract to supply the French with Gold Dots - so most of their manufacturing is trying to supply that contract. In general are saboted bullets as accurate or more accurate than ones like the Powerbelts? Or should I expect a loss of accuracy? I certainly would not expect a loss of accuracy.... |

Poor, poor Sabotloader. Doesn't even realize the French don't really need bullets anyway. :p It's tough to get old, though not all of us senior citizens "lose it" like that.

The latest French Assault Rifle. The tactical light is to ensure they don't trip over their comrades while fleeing the battle in panic.

O.K.
I didn't know... The last time I saw the French was in Viet Nam - when they left and gave it to us because it was to hot - but i swear in them days their guns were straight - but then again they were backing out. |
You guy's are all nuts! LOL, it's nice to see some humer on here, back to the bullet choice. I killed many a deer with just a round ball in the good old days, a properly ececuted shot in the right place will put em down every time, with any bullet. But since I went high tec I now use 240gr XTP Mags, entrance and exit holes you'd think unimaginable. I have never lost a deer hit with one of these, they just dont go far, period.

I am shooting Hornady FPBs and they have always passed through, and left decent bloodtrails.
Your lost buck sounds like the classic high (loin only) hit. They typically drop, thrash, regain their feet and disappear. For this reason, I always reload as quickly as possible if a deer drops at the shot. |
