Anyone want to take a shot on this bullet maker
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...7/sabot002.jpg
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...7/sabot001.jpg The box they came in says remington 44 cal. 275 grain I went threw the internet and can't find it the close I came was that these are Barnes bullets only because they are the only company that offers a 44 cal. bullet/sabot in 275 grains any one ????? |
I'm gonna take a guess and reckon Remington made and discontinued that bullet.

How old is the box? It sure looks like a Remington jacketed hollow point bullet
http://www.remington.com/products/am.../remington.asp as you found out they do not make a 275 grain anymore. I think you hit the bullet on the head, here is the 45 cal in 275 that Barnes makes, no 44 cal. http://www.ableammo.com/catalog/popu....php?pID=93178 Does it fit your gun and if so how does it shoot? |
That's not a Barnes bullet, at least not a modern one. The only 275 grain bullet made by Barnes is the 54/50cal Expander MZ, which is a 50 caliber all copper bullet with a large and very deep hollow point, which the bullet shown clearly isn't. Barnes currently offers no .44cal (.430") bullets in 275 grains, either in the all-copper or the Barnes Original lead core HP.

Those are excellent bullets, I believe Rem even loaded them in their 20 Ga slugs years ago. The Box tells you all you need to know. Read the Box! The Rem Core Lock is the standard all other bullets used to be compared to. They still are a premier bullet.
