Optima 50 cal Range Report

Went out to the range today with the CVA Optima in 50 ca.
A few months ago I replaced the factory stock with a camo thumbhole,I like it.
This is a rifle that I gave to a friend to use when I got my Encore, she loaned it to her brother for about a year,he shot some pelletts through it and put it up never cleaning it.
She asked me a while back if I wanted it back,I said sure.
Well,I got the flitz out and went to work.
It's shiney as a mirror now.

I put the scope from my crossbow on it.
It's a 4x32 with a multi line reticle for crossbows,it is listed as a xbow/shotgun/ML scope
Today I shot
CVA Optima 50 cal
Barska 4x32 crossbow scope
250 grn Shockwave (yelleow tip) with supplied black sabot
110 (by Volume) BH-209
CCI-M 209 primer
I only had time for one target as it started to rain.
You can see the streaks on the target.
Shot #1 was on a clean bore with new BP (I did not pop a cap)I adjusted scope for shot #2
Shot #2 was with scope adjustment for shot #3
Shot #3 no adjustment
Shot #4 no adjustment

This target is printed on standard paper

Sorry to hear how your friend's brother didn't clean your optima but glad to hear that your were able to clean it up and that it is shooting well.

That is a nice looking rifle you have there. And it seems to shoot pretty good to boot. Glad it was not damaged by someone else's irresponsible care. That looks like a nice light rifle too.

What goes through someone's head? Someone is kind enough to loan you a valuable piece of sporting goods equipment and you thank them by damaging it.

My experience with loaning was almost as bad. I had a person do that with one of my rifles. It could have been in ruff shape but he called to tell me about a deer he shot at opening day and missed. He missed two others two days later. So we were trying to figure out his problem. I asked him... did you sight it in like I told you to? NO he said, I figure you had it sighted in. Did you even shoot it to see where it hit? I never got around to it, he told me. Then I asked him... did you clean the rifle after you used it opening day? He then had the nerve to snicker and say... I guess I forgot. So when I told him perhaps he better return the rifle the next day, he protested like the devil. So I told him that if he damaged the rifle, he was going to purchase it from me. He did then clean the rifle, never got a shot the rest of the season, and returned it loaded. So I could shoot it off and then clean it. At least he told me it was loaded. I shot it off and it was not damaged. He wanted to borrow it the next year and I told him NO... buy your own.
