White 97

Is it possible to rebarrel the white 97's, wondering if anyone has done it? I have a 451 looking to rebarrel to .504, I don't know if it would be worth it or not. But if it would increase accuracy and be a .50 cal it might be. What do you think. I shot my .451 at 50 yrds and groups were about 3" maybe I was spoiled with the ultra mag but would like tighter groups than this.

maybe you need to play more with loads. My Model 97 in .451 likes 75 grains of T-7 3f and a .451 460 conical. No complaints on accuracy at all. I think it would be more of a pain to re barrel it. Perhaps there is a White owner out there that might make a trade.

Thanks I will try some conicals, I hope that will help. Scares me how little there is out there for .45 cals anymore.

Bull Shop makes conicals for the .451. I also cast my own out of a .458 LEE Mold and then size them down to what I need. They work real well also. The rifle was made to shoot conicals and do it very well. Underclocked was telling me about this caliber in a post once, so I just had to have one. They are accurate and hard hitting.

Try some No Excuse 460 grainers and 70-75 grains of T7.

I don't think you can re-barrel the White 97, the action and barrel are all one piece like the Knight in lines.
