Knight Vision Range Report

I had never fired a muzzleloader prior to this weekend, and so I was a little nervous about how things were going to work. I watched the instructional video that came with my Knight Vision that I picked up from Sportsmans Guide for $180. I topped it off with a Nikon Omega 3-9x40.

I took T7 loose powder, and 240gr and 300gr XTP's. I sighted in using the 240gr and 100gr of T7 at 50 yds. I was about 6 inches high to start, but after 10 rounds or so, I had it down to 2 inches high. Then I backed things up to 100 yds and pulled out the 300gr XTP's. I kept the 100gr T7 charge and ended up with 3 consecutive, 3-shot groups all under 2", and 1-2" above the bullseye. It shoots about as well as my Ruger M77 .243. I was very impressed.

I had heard some sketchy reviews of the rifle after I picked it up, but it cleans up wonderfully, and I don't have any burnt powder up on the scope after putting about 30 rounds through it this weekend. I may get it out to the range one more time before the season starts, and I may try some different charge loads, but I'd feel totally comfortable taking this gun out hunting tomorrow.

sounds like you figured things out real fast. Nice shooting. Good report on the rifle also.

I bought myself a Knight Vision a couple of months ago and thus far like it a bunch. Easy to clean, load and is a sharp looking rifle. Just need a good scope on it.

The Vision is a really decent gun - especially for the price...

I was testing and doing some work on one for Grouse - It really perfrmed and shot well after i got one small problem taken care of...
