I don't do smoke poles yet, but for under $400 this CVA Accura is looking real good to me:

Thumbs up

1shot,

I ain't missin' anything yet. Haven't bought it. LOL!

If I were serious about getting into it more, I would opt for the Encore Pro:

However, the CVA's price tag, at under less than 1/2, is very attractive for me since if I did get into a little blackpowder, I'd still have a little $$$ left over to go into another rifle, scope or binoculars.

When you decide to buy one make sure you handle a few different guns before you buy one. Muzzleloaders are made with alot of different style stocks and some just won't fit you right.

Zaboo, they are great guns, easy to operate and work up a load. If you're looking to use it as a multi-purpose weapon, ie. use other barrels, it will be the way to go.

If not, go to some shops, shoulder some, and see what feels good to you. The reason I say this is $$$.

If you like TC products the Triumph is a great choice, they're user friendly and great shooters. Muzzleloading has come a long ways and there are some great choices out there. I love my Triumph!!! Good luck!

That is a great feature but I believe most Encore owners never use the feature.
Those barrels aint cheap, they cost as much as a gun.
Don't get me wrong,I love my Encore but I just sold it.

I like the Bone collector, triumph,Accura,Optima,Wolf and Apex.
I will most likely stick with the Optima and Kodiak I have for awhile and see what 2010 has in store for muzzy's
