Got this bull moose 2 1/2 year old tipped the scales at 940 lbs I shot him at 212 yds ( range finder ) hit the corner of the shoulder blade. the heart and lungs were destroyed I was using 150 grs of triple 7 powder with 300 gr barnes expander and the moose fell like a ton of bricks it did not even take one step

Congratulations... that was a heck of a shot. But you must have known you could pull it off. That was a long shot. What kind of rifle and optics were you using?

Those Barnes are just a great bullet. I talked to another person that popped an elk with one last year. They said, it devastated the internal organs, expanded just like at the web site pictures, and lodged under the hide on the other side.

I agree, that lawn chair next to the head really makes you understand the size of those animals. I never hunted them with a muzzleloader. Center fire yes, but no muzzleloader. The landscape must have been flat and treeless to see that far and shoot.

Again, way to go!!!

That county kind of reminds me of home..

That's what you face when you leave my property and enter Federal Forest.

that's the muskie lake near my house...

I have a Black Diamond XR and some of them Barnes as well around the house. Even some Triple Seven pellets. I will have to try your load and see how it does. Those Black Diamonds might be old technology, but they sure do shoot good. Again, congratulations on the moose.

Nice shooting. Great Accuracy for that hot load. Nice that you were able to get him out in one piece. Our Moose numbers in Minnesota are dropping.
