Verifying Loads Plus FPB Test
Well, it’s about time to get serious here. Deer season is nearly upon me so I took the 700ML out to verify my huntin’ loads for this year. Decided to try the .430 300g XTP this year. I’ve killed deer w/the .452 version both MAG and non MAG but since cayugad and Falcon speak so highly of this one I thought I’d give it a try. If nothing else, they sure shoot well.

I bought them on clearance last year at Walmart so just for fun I loaded them up. Don’t know why but I changed to 85g of 777 for the next 3 shots. ![]() 700ML 85g 777 ffg 350g FPB Kleanbore 50 Yards Well-well-well, how about that? :woot:Pretty impresive. I might have to try them out this year. I’m going to Mississippi for a hog hunt in Nov, this might just be the bullet I try. In fact, they impressed me so much, I brought the Genesis to the range yesterday and to see how well they shot out of it. The 700 shoots everything well so I was curious w/the Genesis' QLA if it would shoot as good as the 700. Turns out, about the same. I’m pretty sure I pulled that one high. Even so, still ok with me. ![]() Genesis Laminate/Thumbhole 350g FPB 85g BH 209 Win 209 50 Yards I'm pretty impressed by that FPB. Lord willin' I'll test one out on a hog next month and see if they perform on game as well as they do on paper. |
That is some really impressive shooting there. And that Genesis looks like it is a good shooter as well. Good luck this season.

Funny thing about those Remingtons, they sure seem to shoot well...
Which would be a better deer bullet the 240 or 300gr in that .430 bullet??? I've got a buddy that's thinking about trying them and just wanted to give him some good info... |
Glad to see you had some luck with the FPB's in your Genesis. I couldnt even get them started in my Genesis. Did you have to really smack your short starter to get them started down the barrel?

There is a learning curve to starting them, especially in guns without a QLA, but the FPBs shoot well in both my Omega and Knight LRH. As stated, giving them a pop with your palm on a short starter is the key.
