Thompson Center Shockwave 200gr
What is everyone using for a load with the TC Shockwave 200gr 50 cal Sabots?
I'm in need to do some powder purchasing and was just seeing what everyone else was shooting. |

I am using T7-2f, to be specific 110 grains... but the new powder BH-209 is preferred by many - to expensive for me. If you are an occasional shooter/hunter BH might be the way to go. |
I shoot the 250s. But it doesn't matter what bullet I'm pushing, I shoot Pyrodex RS.

OK another question for you guys. I'm shootin a TC Encore, just so you know.
I've never shot loose powder before, and I want to switch over to it. If someone has the time what powder measure do I need, and misc other supplies switching from Triple 7 pellets to loose powder. A link to anything helpful at the Cabela's website would really be helpful. Thanks again! |
Oh yeah, I don't shoot my muzzleloader a whole lot, as it is really tough to get tags here in South Dakota. But I am planning on shooting it quite a bit this year, I handload all my own handgun/rifle ammo and love tinkering with this stuff. I am just trying to get more knowledgeable on the smokepoles.

Well I would get a bottle funnel for whatever powder bottle you're using. And a powder measure is a must of course. That's about it.

Using a powder flask is easiest for metering powder into the powder measure.
The spout top on the Pedersoli flask is calibrated to measure about 25 grains per fill for quick loading in the field, and is narrow enough to fit the mouth of narrow measures. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...0006439212239a However, the flasks with a push button valve are favored by many. Unfortunately Cabela's doesn't sell the Traditions brass push button valve model with the thin stem. But the TC U-View flask received good marks. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...0006535212557a Read the product reviews. |
Well Rammer, if you like tinkering you're gonna` be in hogs heaven in the frontstuffer world. There are so many bullet/sabot/powder combinations that will fit your Encore that you just may tinker yourself to death. :s2::s2: Welcome back to the Black Powder forum. :arms:
