Favorite/ best load for CVA wolf?

Paid $159 for the black/ blued w/ Cabelas Pine Ridge several years ago. Handy little gun, fun to shoot as a backup or brush gun. I normally shoot my Omega. I still haven't found the best combo. I have 50 and 30 gr pellets. For the wolf, I normally load 3 30's or a 50 and a 30 and have shot 250 shockwaves, 223 powerbelts and 300 sst's. Just curious if any of you have reliable go to loads for your wolf. Thanks!

I took my first ML Deer with my Wolf last year. I used 80 grains of 777 loose powder, with a 295 grain PowerBelt, aerotip.

I had excellent results with 80 gr BH 209 250 SST with Harvester short blacks, a touch over 1'" at 100 yards. Another I just figured out is 300 grain Barnes Expander and 90 BH with a HPH 24, 3 shots at 75 yards measured .808.

Sift through these Basspro and Cabela's user reviews to see some reports about Wolf loads:

95gr American Pioneer and a 245 gr TC cheap shot... Never had a deer run more than 80 yards with this load

80 grains T7 and just about any saboted bullet out there. Usually a 250 grain OTC shockwave.

Dang, I never load mine with less than a magnum (3 50gr pellets) and a 295 powerbelt! 1 1/2" shot pattern at 100 yrds. It packs a wallop, and my reasoning is you never know what you will encounter with that one shot opportunity! I use the 777's and have put mine where it counts on each kill, and never had to track a kill. Maybe Im over doing it, but I'm telling you the Wolf is an awesome black powder gun for the price. I have mine camoed out with a 2-9 with 50mm reticle.

I dropped a 180 pound buck at 150 yrds last year and he didnt even kick when he hit the ground!

BTW, I tried in vain to shoot a Hornaday sabot, and couldnt even get a consisitent group out of it, so I think powerbelts were designed, or at least the Wolf was designed around the powerbelt sabot. Wont shoot anything else!
