Some days it just dont pay to shoot

I went out sat aftenoon with intentions of making sure my mls were sighted in for a upcoming ml hunt on a wildlife management area. Started out with my wife new optmia pro that shot lights out back in the summer. My 3 shot hole touching group back in the summer turned into 4 inch group at a 100 yards. Exactly the same load to. Not sure what is going on here, checked the scope mounts, they were fine. Then I tried some hornady FPB's's out of my white rifle, wasnt to impressed with that either. Shooting 6 inch groups at a hundred. Might have to go back to the TC maxi balls in it. The only bright spot was my optmia elite was still shooting 2 inches high at a hundred with inch groups. Not a good day at the range. Has anyone ever tried the FPB's in a white rifle before?

It never hurts to check scope bases and rings. When using sabots it's good practice to shoot your ML in with the same bag of sabots for hunting season.

If you were using any of the hygroscopic powders try a new can, if they collect a bit of moisture they are erratic. if not [about the only one that is not is Blackhorn] then try increasing the load a bit if you are on the edge of where that load shoots good the temperature difference may be the problem.

Ah, the mysteries of muzzle loading. Do guns have bad days where they wake up in the morning feeling bloated and inaccurate? :p

I know that feeling gregrn. Took my Accura to new mexico, went to the NRA and did some shooting. Turned out the scope kept moving after each shot. I had bought a $60 bushnell sportsman that same day, put it on, shooting 200 yards with it on shot #6. It seems to be holding up good still. I'll be sending the other bushnell off for repair.
