Sabots for $500 Alex.....

Triumph owners.......lend me your ear....for thou hath the knowledge that I seeketh....Ok I'll get serious :P
What sabot are you using in your Triumphs?? I believe that some of you were using Harvester Short Black sabot---correct?? Where can I get some? Is there anything better---for the Triumph? I have GOT to get my Nikon Omega sighted in as ML season is FAST approaching (Oct 10!!!). I have my Shockwave 250gr, I (finally) have my CCI primers. Now I need the best sabots to get this baby right. I still plan on using 777 pellets 2x50gr most likely. Help!!!!------DrASUS :action-smiley-099:

I can only speak for myself, I have a new Triumph that when I first got it I did not think I was going to any sabot down it very well, including 'crush ribs' but today I can load most anything I want to. I use the thick Blue MMP 40/50, I use the MMP-HPH24, and the MMP Orange .458/50 sabot. I shoot 110/120 grain T7-2f loads from it and it is accurate gun.

For me to be able to load these thicker sabots - I did have to do some bore polishing with J-B Bore Paste.

In about 90 % of TC guns the Short Black Harvester and 250 SW are very very good.
Different bullets some times need different sabot In the same gun that shots the SBH and SW real well the 250 and 300 Gold Dot shoot best with the 300+ Harvester and I have to trim the SBH a bit shorter to get the best results with a 451 dia 240 gr or 130 gr XTP or Gold Dot.
The best accuracy combination for Triumph's is usually the 250 SW and SBH with 110 or 120 gr Blackhorn. Lee

Where do I get Short black Harvester sabots? And is Harvester the brand name? Sorry for my ignorance--DrASUS

I forgot to add that My Triumph was snug...but nothing out of the ordinary in my opinion. I have ALWAYS ran a wet cleaning wipe and the a dry one after EVERY shot...Dunno if this has helped or not---DrASUS

A big price difference to start. I also believe Harvester is more consistent sabot and made with better materials. They both do have there place. Your Triumph should have no problem with the short black.

uh---according to the above links provided the MMPs are $5.76 for a 50pk and the SBH are $5.95 for a 50pk. I don't see a big price difference......am I missing something---DrASUS
