Another rifle to try out

My step mom asked me a few days ago to look for a rifle for her son. Well, bronko and i worked out a deal on his Remington Genesis. I'll be sure im the first one testing it out  I still have some 250gr Lehighs to try out so i will mount my bushnell trophy on it and see how it does with 120gr T7.

Thanks again Bronko. M/O will be in the mail tomorrow morning.

Run a couple of those 250's throught your tortue test if you would/could also. Like to here what you think.

Should have fun with that Genesis! don't shoot your toes...

How well does this rifle handle heavier bullets? I looked through my stash and only have 405 & 444gr powerbelts left, along with some 385gr remington conicals.

Sabot loader, looking at the design and having done a bit of testing myself I am going to guess that the Lehigh work off of hydraulics and that testing them with out some kind of fluid won't open them but put some fluid in front of them and they will pop open. They open quite a bit different than I thought they would. Lee

Yes, I agree but I am thinking they will open a bit probably not to 40 degrees but more like a conventional HP - but I think talso the penetration will still be there.

I am sorta thinking that - that might be the beauty of the Lehigh. It can shed and get the extra damage or it can retain partially opened petals and behave like a more conventional bullet. The key goes back to velocity @ the point of impact.

I can test them in wet news paper if you guys would like. I'll even video it just so sabotloader can slow it down and take some still pics.

My Genesis shoots FPBs pretty well, they are 350 gr.

That rifle is going to kick like a mule with 120g of powder. I tired mine out with 110g and it seemed to like 100g better. But yours may be different. It's a great rifle though.

Now that would be neat, I love those video when some one picks out the right frames and brings them up. Do you have any FTX? If not PM me with some info and I will send enough for a test. Lee
