I also bought a bunch from Lane and use them at the range. They are great.

Don't know what's wrong with the Juno mail, but you can also reach me by PM or at:

I ordered 25 of Lane's tubes and they are great, I just wish I had of ordered more of the small size as they will hold 100 grains of loose powder easily. 25 for $9.00 including shipping vs 3 of the store brands for $6.00 or more plus shipping is a no-brainer.

I had the same question about losing powder in the excitement of the moment. When lurking on some of the traditional forums I read about paper cartridges. So what I did was make a measured charge of loose powder in rice (cigarette) paper. I used a 7/16 dowel rod for a template to form the empty case and then filled with loose powder. I have not had an opportunity to use this hunting yet but have done some range testing and it does not seem to change the accuracy of my load.
I also have some of Lane's tubes. I bought 75 and split them with my brother and nephew. After my first range session with them I regretted not buying more or at least giving any to my bro. I will buy more because they are very handy. |
I use Lane's tubes and last year under extreme pressure was able to load and get a second shot at a huge buck out of my ladder stand. The buck ended up 30 yards hehind me in a blowdown. I was hidinign behind the tree and loading quickly and nervous as a cat in a dog pound.
