Powerbelts in a TC
I'm in the market for a new muzzleloader. mostly b/c I'm tired of fooling with Knights plastic jackets. I was looking a TC omega or triumph but have read on other forums that they will not shoot powerbelts accuratley. Any truth to this. Thanks.

You could always shoot a different bullet.

my triumph shoots the 295 powerbelt great. 100grns of blackhorn 209 and regular winchester primers. i'm getting 1 1/2 in grps at 100yds,i have a friend shooting the same in his and getting the same results.killed 4 deer with mine last ,4shots,4 kills.

RE: Powerbelts in a TC
I have tried both 245/295 gr Powerbelts in my Omega with nogreat results printed on paper. When I first got the Omega I started out with these bullets. I have taken 3 deer with this bullet but the blood trails were less than expectation.I have since converted to SW-250gr and will dabble in the Gold Dot 250gr/HCR sabotif they would ever get off back order status with Midsouth Ammo.

RE: Powerbelts in a TC
The T/C rifles will usually shoot Powerbelts OK; it is the other solidlead conicals that cause problems in the QLA T/C barrels. My Omega shoots Powerbelts and sabots OK. Not very consistent with solid conicals. I am less than impressed with Powerbelt performance on game. The lead ones shatter if driven too fast and the plastic tip copper coated ones seem to lack expansion and usually just go through without a lot of damage. Have not shot the silver ones.

RE: Powerbelts in a TC
Thanks for the info. I dont mind switching to another bullet, my dad shoots the powerbelts in his Remington so it's just easier for me to.
