Velocities I can't get--Part II
It took forever, but I finally got out shooting this last month. Mentioned the advice from you guys to a pal--he has a GPR in 54--and he stepped up and got a pound of 777-3F. WOW!!!! Chrono'd both my 50 and his 54. The 50 with 100gr--495/.015 was running 1870-1900fps. The 54 with 100gr--.535/.015 was running 1835-1850fps. Can't run as many shots with out cleaning as the AP but this is not a big deal. My bud was shooting AP Gold 2F and he was so impressed with the 777, I inherited 2 lb of it. The next thing that was surprising is that 100gr of the Gold was much better than 100gr of the standard AP. Nearly a rip at 50 yds. Junk at 100yds though. Going to keep shooting this stuff for practice. Much less recoil with the AP. Backed down to 90gr with the 777-3F and it shoots great at 50 and I was able to hold between 4-5" at 100--for the most part-- with .495/.015. Still running 1800+/- w/90gr. This will do nicely. Just need to practice now. Thanks again to all who responded.
