Pics from the Loshbough Hog Hunt!
I had a great time and was glad to have the opportunity to meet 3 great guys! We had a blast and got along famously. It ended up being me, Chuck, Harry, and Bob. Loshbough is a fenominal outfitter! First of all, the place is gorgeous! It's very well maintained and clean as can be. Every single person I encountered was very courteous from the guides Logan and Mike to the office clerk Susan. I would definitely go back there without hesitation! Here's the pics!
Bob killed his hog first. He was using a Knight with a No Excuses conical. I'm not sure about the bullet weight or powder charge. ![]() I killed mine second. I used my Endeavor with it's pet load of 120g BH209 and a 250g Barnes T-EZ with MMP HPH12 sabot. ![]() Harry killed his next. He was using a traditional sidelock with round ball. ![]() And Chuck killed his last. He used a .54 cal TC Hawkin sidelock with round ball. ![]() Chucks hog was by far the largest. The guides said it was well over 300 pounds!!! And here's a pic of all four of us hanging out at the lodge... ![]() Here's a pic of the Cinnamon Dall Ram I shot while we were there. We had to work for this joker. He was with a Corsican Ram at the top of a very steep, very high hill. Logan and I had to climb up there after him and we both had to stop a couple times to catch our breath. I'm having both my hog and theram mounted by Lifelike Taxidermy. I should have them back in about6 months. ![]() It was definitely a great trip! It took me eight hours to get there but that's nothing compared to Bobs 20 hour drive from Northern Michigan. I couldn't have picked a better bunch of guys to go hunting with. We had a ball!!! |

Great pictures... those wounds are really something on them hogs and ram. WOW!! looks like you were shooting some large magnums instead of muzzleloaders. That powder and projectile you are using looks like it really did a job.
Also the old roundball does it again. I like that. Hunting them with a roundball is really cool. |

Looks like you had a lot of fun. Loshbough is only about an hour from where I live. Nice area.
Were you looking for a Cinnamon Dall or is that just the one you happened to see? |

I always pictured a Dall Sheep bigger then that. What do you think that goat weighed? That does look like something fun to hunt.

Beautiful animal though. |

That would explain it.. too many Alaskan adventure movies for me. But still that looks like a lot of fun.
That wound from the No Excuses Conicals.. anyone that wants to argue the knock down power of a conical just need tolook at that. They work just as well as these fancy dollar a pop bullets. And the others that used roundball. It will be interesting to hear their stories and of how well a simple roundball did on these tuff creatures. |

ORIGINAL: TNHagies Ok, I was just curious if you wanted the cinnamon or blonde as it's sometiems called. I love the Texas Dalls as well however, I'm more partial to the white ones. Don't blame you getting it mounted, make sure you post pics of both when you get them back. Dave, they can get up to 140lbs or so. Not hard to kill though. They're about like a pronghorn in that respect. Beautiful animal though. |

Very nice animals! Sounds like you had an excellent hunt and a great time.
But hasn't anyone told you that it's OK to smile when someone takes your picture? You look like someone just shot your dog then tried to make you pay for the bullet! ;) If I were you, I'd be grinning from ear-to-ear! :D Mike |
