Actually I think if you combined all our expertise there isn't a question on here that we couldn't give a knowledgeable response too. So ask away and we'll help you out. Remember, the only dumb question is the one you don't ask.

Easily Dave - Cayugad

A wide and vast amount of knoledge about all forms of ML information

RE: resident expert

I have probably learned the most from caygud BUT the knowledge base is astounding on this forum. I would hate to say that one is more of an expert than any other because it is the collective knowledge of the members here that makes it such a good forum.

Ask a question and you will surely get plenty of answers to chose from.

Thank you for the "expert" vote, however Cayugad has much more knowledge than I have in MLing. I would consider him theDean of this board. I agree with the other posters, it is the combined knowledge of a lot of people that is of the greatest benefit. I am learning just like everyoneelse. Especially with new powders, new bullets, new guns.

Hey Weasel, I've been a member of this forum for two years and in all of that time I've only said this to one poster.

I do believe you are a NIB. We've had lots of guests at out hunting lease, a few of whom we classified as NIBs - stands for Never Invited Back.

Golly! BCW what is your problem? You have not even been here long enough to see the impact and respect that Dave has on this forum and you start slinging.

Why would you want to start off in this manner?

So that's what makes someone an expert huh. Gimmee a break. So if I go out and buy one of every muzzle loader then i can become the resident expert. maybe you ought to change your name from "semisane" to "completely nuts" Owning something doesn't make you an expert.[:-]
It does if you shot them as much as Cay does...:D

I'd still like to know what kind of question you had....

RE: resident expert

Since I have not commented on all of this, perhaps I should. First off I am no expert nor have I ever claimed to be. And granted I own over thirty some rifles, but I could not agree more in that, the numbers of rifles one ownsmean nothing in terms of expertise. I am simply a muzzleloader shooter like the rest of you. For me its a passion. I am also blessed with the opportunity, time, and resources to try all sorts of things with these rifles. But I learn all the time from members of this forum and other forums every day. While I am honored that some place me in such highregard in this field, believe me. I too have questions and concerns like all the rest of you. I ask others theiropinions and experiencesall the time. Perhaps my difference is I am willingto learn from everyone. That's the beauty of these forums.

I've learned from all of you; optics, rifles, powders, sabots, projectiles, cleaning products, you name it. Every aspect of this sport down to the kind of targets we shoot is a learning experience for me. Embrace the knowledge presented in these forums. Take it with a grain of salt if you must. Even be skeptical if you must. Most of all embrace the camaraderie we find on these forums exchanging ideas, resultsand adventures and just interacting in a social manner. If your sole purpose is to come on a forum and try to prove your own agenda, or you dislike the information presented in the manner it is given. Then the best thing about these forums is, no one forces you to be here.

Yea well don't worry I don't want to belong to this forum. I thought it might be a decent place with some knowledgable folks but I can tell it is nothing more than a mansy pansy meeting house for the opinionated. You are about the only honest person here that lives up to your name and speaks your mind. Everything else is political correct nonsense or pablum puking commercials disguised as test results,or name calling and personal attacks for confronting anything.
I read back through a lot of threads . i think i will go to a forum where real men hang out and real friendships can be established.. See you sissies later.
What a tool.....

Seriously, do a little searching of the forum before making retarded posts about cayugad. He is probably the most unselfish, stand-up guy here. I know he helped me a great deal when I was starting with muzzleloaders. To echo what the other guys said, don't let to door hit ya where the good lord split ya..... And don't go away mad, just go away... :D

You mustn't be that sad.
Remember the old adage: Its better to keep you mouth shut and have people think you're and idiot - than to open it and remove all doubt....:D
Not you - but I've seen forums where folks say what's on their tiny little minds.
But this forum is the best I've ever been part of and the people here are great.
We all have our little tricks and tips that we share on here and it make us all experts as a whole.

RE: resident expert

:DNo way that Dave is the expert because he owns/ed every muzzle loader made. He still doesn't have a krb7. Many are disappointed in that fact because they didn't win the pool. Geez My picked date ran out nearly a year ago.
I still shut up and listen when he speaks and take to heart the words of wisdom he shares.

:DSabot loader while a ever knowing person with the sabots has a hard time with those round chunks of lead wraped in cloth. I have seen recently his complains about things not working to his likeing in that reguards and asking for help. Guess whos?
He also has the bad habit of posting pictures of spent bullets with weights. Maybe those findings would really meen some thing if the bullets weighed, each and every one the amount listed on the box.
But any body who still owns a Remington 700 Muzzle loader and still likes them can't be all bad. I also have to give him High praise for the help he has given me and the sabots he has sent to work with. I also know he has sent them to others too. It is because of such a shipment from him I found the MMP purple 54cal sabot with the 300gr. 50 cal bullet for my 54cal rifle.
I didn't know shoe polish from sugar about Muzzle loaders even though I had owned a couple for years till I came here.
There is to many to name here who I need to thank for the knolege I have aquired here.
But Dave, Mike, and UC are on the top of the list.
;)There are some that are on top of the other list too:D:D

:D Al
