The Whitworth I' m referring to is the Civil War era long-range sniper rifle, NOT a modern cartridge arm!! You can kill Yankees at 1000 yards with a Whitworth...

If you are as skilled and knowledgeable as your posts indicate (which I have no doubt are true) why, pray tell, do you need someone else' s advice about the difference of 2X in scope magnifications??

I ask questions because I am not the smartest person on the earth. I ask questions because I do not like learning by my mistakes; I would rather learn from other peoples mistakes it is less costly and saves time. People who do not ask questions stanch their learning, and remain stagnant.

Sorry about mixing up my Whitworth' s (the rifle in converse was made by Sir Joseph Whitworth). I have read they can shoot a 530 gr. .45 conical bullet inside a 12" circle at 500 yrs. with a 1-20" twist. Either way let me know when you are going to send me one. Good luck.
