I just bought a brand new 45 cal stainless steel green mountain barrel ( 1:28) for my T/C hawken. I got it brand new from green Mountain 3 weeks ago for $110.00. or the regular barrel was $95.00. That must be a special 45 cal . to bring that price

Could be what I see on ebay quite often, people either don't really check things out before bidding or get caught up in the bidding and end up paying way more than they should. I use the basic rule that if I can't get it for a deal (like 50 to 60% of local pricing) then I wait for the next one to come along, eventually I will get what I want at a price I'm willing to pay. If I need it right now I buy itlocally. I also check out all the online discount stores to see what it's really worth before bidding.

right now I have a bid on a stock for my 54cal barrel. I have a cut off. but it meets the price locally for centerfire stocks. right now.

To get in on last second bidding without having to be there you could set up an account with these people,
http://www.auctionsniper.com/
I've used it a few times and it seems to work.
I still prefer to do it in person and never bid more than a few seconds before the bidding is over, been burned before and don't want to go through that again. Just bid the most you are willing to pay and either you win or you don't. I did that on a wheel flint last week and won with 2 or 3 seconds left. Got it in the mail today. Now I need to try it out before posting a report on it.
