Your experience negotiating a nice discount inspired me yesterday. The components of our TV/entertainment system have been failing one by one so we went out to replace it all -- TV, stand, surround sound system. We went to Best Buy, the salesman walked me through everything and I picked a nice 46in LCD, stand, and Yamaha surround sound. We got right to the end when he thought he had me and was going to ring me up, and I stopped him and said "I'll be honest with you, this is the first place we've looked and while I want to make sure I get the best deal I'd rather not take all weekend driving around and checking out every place in town. Talk to your manager, get be $100 off the TV and $150 off the stand, and I'll take it right now."

We had to wait awhile for the manager, but we walked out saving $250 on top of an already significant discount on the TV for being a floor model.

Wonder if the wife will let me put that toward a gun.... ;D

Good for you spaniel. :) You played it just right. I've found that you can get a pretty good discount nine out of ten times by just asking for one.

By the way,if you add another $65 to the $250 you saved you can have a 25 lb. case of GOEX from Jack's Powder Keg delivered to your door. That's a LOT of shooting. :D
