I appreciate you guys...
I belong to several forums and have seen many posts get out of hand...I don't remember seeing where the guys on here get their panties in a wad just because a guy has a different opinion...I for one just don't feel the need to argue on the internet, it seems pointless...
After seeing that many on this forum are "older" I believe that many of you probably feel the same way... Thanks for making the Black Powder area of HNI a place where we can all exchange ideas and knowledge... Enjoy your weekend... |

RE: I appreciate you guys...
Hawkeye, most of the guys in here are very helpful. (I hope they think I'm one too). We have a lot of years behind us and we don't mind sharing our tips and errors with everyone else. Of couse some of us (and I know I'm guilty) do like to throw a little jab once in a while. But its all in fun and most everyone in here has a sense of humor.
Of course that's is not to say we know everything. We sometimes get a tip forthe youngins too. Keep your powder dry and your nose clean. |
RE: I appreciate you guys...
I joined this site a number of years ago and was part of another forum in which it was strictly a Taditional forum which had a inline section. Well guess what happened, it was a us versus them contest and eventually they blocked all of the inline users from that forum. Some of us on here remember that site andI still wishI knew what happened as I was on vacation and received an email saying we were all blocked. This forum is open and none of us use it as a way to tell all, we all respect each other as we are. After all we (hunters/muzzlenuts) are a dying breed, I heard the other day that the national averages in hunting permits were down by more than 35% last year. Unreal and downright scary if the damn government continues their efforts.

Indiana is trying to get it passed to lower license rates.Double the bag limit on deer, for the top 30 countys related to deer accidents.Extend the season for those countys(gun). They doubled a few years back and it hurt them.I bought my life time license on the last day before they jumped 500 or so dollars. They made 10 million that year on sales, but realized they would never get nothing again. They quit selling life time license's after a year or two. |

I personally have a lot of better things to do then argue on non shooting issues or try and promote my own agenda and views. I am aware of the forum for instance that Gotbuck refers to. I am a member there. I was shocked actually when I saw the inline section and those loyal to it, moved out.I have also seen other forums basically kill their membership simply because one member thinks they need to push their agenda or views over all others. I simply like to shoot, and share what I do on the range and in my shop with others. |

I agree, there are a bunch of great guys on the blackpowder forum, I never see any bickering, unlike the bowhunting forum. Seems like they are alwauys bickering over there.

RE: I appreciate you guys...
Well, I have not been a member for a long long time, but it has been a great learning tool. The guys on here are very smart. However, as a youngin' I would like to say that I hope we don't get lumped in as bickering group, b/c there are lots who are not and I hope that somehow we can pass on some things we have learned or seen as well....one question...what was the big powerbelt agrument?

ORIGINAL: Semisane one question...what was the big powerbelt agrument? :D:D Uh-Oh! Run! Run! Run! :D:D:D shame on you IRT the original topic . . . yes, this forum is great for a number of reasons (most of which have already been stated). Everyone helps everyone else and there is no such thing as a dumb question. Everyone respects and supports each other and not just with ML topics. |
RE: I appreciate you guys...
The best description of arguing online I heard came from a co-worker who described it like the Special Olympics. "You may win he said, but you are still retarded..."
That pretty much ended my days of arguing online:D |
RE: I appreciate you guys...
Well you guys may remember a few months ago, we had a guy come on here and was real arrogant. I won't mention any names. He was the kind of guy that thought he had the best of everthing and everyone else's stuff was junk.
But some of us really tore into him and he didn't hang around long. That is unless he settled down and is now using a different ID. OH and way to go Semisane - that fire was just about smothered out and you go and bring another can of gas!!!!!! |

RE: I appreciate you guys...
I been shooting a Muzzle loader since 1975, got my own in 1976 a kit.
For over 30 years I have been just shooting a Muzzle loader. Once I got here I was taught how to do it right. I also have a list of people who I consider friends and would treat them as such if I met them in person. [>:]What was it a couple years ago with the NewIdeaHo rule change that pitted the stone strikers &rock lockers againest the inliners? Seems that wasn't so friendly either. It is far friendlier than many places. Some places the people who moderate allow the subject of to go fromwhat gunquestions to useing scopes is gawd awful for several pages Even when the poster posted about the gun he/she selected. I sent a fellow here recently from a site where they beat him up because he uses a inline. I am old and can't see real well with out the bottoms out of coke bottles but I isnt feeble yet. :) Al |
