Looks like one of the early ones from Dixie Gun Works. Great guns. I believe they had Douglas barrels.

Thank's for posting the pic Mike! This was my very first ML, got it about 22 years ago, it's made by Dixie Gun Works of Tenn. It's 57 1/2" long and a 50Cal. I shot my first ML Buck with it back in the patch and round ball and no scope days. I used 90gr of Tfg and she was a sweet shooter. Gave er up when the in-lines became popular. Im thinking of using her again mabey this next season, she looks sad not being used! As long as she is, it just lays there steady as a rock when you shoulder her. I just have never seen anyone else posting pics of one like her so I thought you'd appreciate it. Thank's Again Mike! BP

Yes, it's definately not a Brush-ML. I used to get kidded a-lot, friends would say, watch out you dont poke someone's eye out with that thing, or, How far was the shot at the deer you got, 2inches! BP

Beauty. With that you can be up in a tree stand and it's still point blank range.

Very nice.
My brother built one sort of like that from a Dixie kit in 1974 or 75. People use to get after him too, that he cheated at shooting events as he was much closer to the target than they were. It was a beauty I'll say that for it. He traded it for some concrete work to a fellow he knew. That fellow had it over the fireplace mantel when he wasn't shooting it. The fellow had a house fire that burnt the center out of his house and left the out side walls standing. That ML made it thru just fine and the fire/heat did some thing to the wood and really made it even more of a beauty. :) Al |
