Genesis trigger assembly
 

Is anyone familiar with tightening the hammer spring in the trigger assembly of a Remington Genesis? I find that at times the hammer doesn't have enough force to fully detonate the primer, resulting in a misfire.

Call Traditions and ask them about this question. They might have you mail them the trigger assembly and check it for you. Be sure that cam is all the way down or the hammer will not strike the firing pin.

Make sure the ends of both those torsion springs are where they are supposed to be. Hopefully this picture will show you where they belong.

Thanks for the info gentlemen. Judging by the diagram, the springs are in the correct position. I may have to take Cayugad's advice and ship the assembly out to Traditions.

Well, try cleaning it first, but unless it is very dirty, sounds like you may need to send it.

I just took mine apart today to stone the trigger and hammer notches a little. I took pics and will post them a little later. My trigger pull weight was approximately 7 pounds before I worked on it. It's just a hair over 5 now. I say approximate because I was using trigger weights to measure and they go in pound and a half increments. The only reason I did this is to make the pull a little smoother. And I did.
