Incidental Comment On Forum Performance

For the last couple of days this forum has performed somelwhat like my brain - works OK sometimes, locks up on occasion, can't always get where I want it to go,and seems to be getting slower and slower.

Now that you mention it, if you have $40 in your pocket do you buy a bottle of good single malt Scotch or a 10 oz. canister of Blackhorn? Just remember - you KNOW theScotch will work.

Somehow, I do not think the 'migration' to new servers has worked to well, which is really unfortunate...

Maybe it is the temperature here that is slowing my communication down 9 and snowing - but we did get to 12

We hit -16ยบ last night and it was windy too so I hate to guess what the windchill was. But it warmed up nice. Of course I had a doctors appointment so the whole day was shot. Kind of like me.. :D

Semi - actually I believe this site still works better than your brain. I think the combination of scotch and inhaling black powder smoke for too many years has caused irreversible damage to your brain.
I on the other hand almost never partake of alcohol (only on special occasions like when the sun sets in the west), and I never shoot into the wind (unless its blowing in my face). Which reminds me, my Parrot Bay coconut rum is almost gone.

Aw bronko, my brain works fine on alcohol - besides, I'm a lot better looking after a drink or two (I'm pretty sure of that). In addition, Al Gore wants us to use more alcohol. Hey, maybe I can sell alcohol credits!

As hunters we all know that hunting improves the herd. The careless, slow and stupid ones end up in our freezers. Well alcohol does the same thing with our brain cells. The slow ones get killed first thus improving the function of our brain. This is why we feel so much smarter after a few drinks.

alcohol made Budweiser.. :D By the way, I seriously do not drink alcohol. I used to. But it made me a very bad man...[&o]

This forum is working better now. Before it was a nightmare of sorts. If I were still on the old dial up, I would have never opened any of the sites on here.

Good for you Cayugad.Suchdecisions are often the toughest to make and hardest to maintain. As for me, I joke around a lot but in reality will have two or three beers over the course of a weekend, or a nice Scotch in theevening after a shooting session or hunt. I believe in moderation. You should seemy bank account - it's about as moderate as you can get. :D

RE: Incidental Comment On Forum Performance

In all seriousness I too only drink alcohol occasionally. I also quit smoking this past April. And hell, my sex life is also on a down hill slide. I'm sure glad I have my ML and other guns to keep me occupied or I'd also surely go semi-insane.
But thanks to not drinking and smoking, I have more cash to spend on shooting supplies.
I saved up enough $ that I am going on a bison hunt in October. I really wanted to use the ML but the outfitter said its archery only. Oh well, I can live with that.

Good job on the stopping smokeing. That is what I gave my self as a retirement present. Smoke free since April 1st 2001.

That Bison hunt sounds exciting. Especially with a bow. That should be a great spot and stalk.

I stopped smoking many years ago. Best thing I ever did for myself. Of course my family kids me about my lack of vices now, as in my youth I was a hair wild.I don't drink, smoke, or do anything anymore. They told me to wear a brown bathrobe, carry a bucket of smoking embers from the wood stove, walk around the outside of the house and hum a lot.

And do you follow their instruction? Sounds a lotlike Jack Nichsolson when he played the guy Melvin who was kinda kooky and wouldn't step on cracks on the sidewalk It was called "As Good As it Gets",

Maybe this is as good as it gets?
