Go to the Knight Web site if you want one. They sell for around that cost. Then check some of the other stores to see what their prices are.

I am wondering why you think you need a 209 conversion for a MK85. Granted they used a #11 cap, but they were one of the most consistent ignition rifles ever. As long as you used loose powder (other then Black Horn 209 and some of the other new ones). Those things just went off.

I have a Wolverine LK-II with the same ignition system as you. I personally like the ignition system.

I believe BH 209 is supposed to be used in a sealed breach rifle. I consider the MK85 a open breach with a striker system.

When I shot BlackHorn 209 out of my Black Diamond XR which is also a hammer striker open system like the MK-85, while it did fire the powder off, I had a chunk of primer blow back and hit me in the forehead. Even drew blood. [:@] So be sure to wear safety glasses if you shoot.

BlackHorn is really meant for a closed system.

Is that the same bolt they used for the musket cap ignition?? If it is then I have an extra one. It is hard to tell by the picture. Is the bolt all you need?? I realize your post says primer holder. So please excuse my ignorance if I asked the wrong question. Tom.

I may be wrong but the part you want is called a battery cup and a primer is inserted in it correct? If that is correct all you really need is a CCI-209 primer or better yet a Federal 209A.

That assembly from Precision was so you could shoot small rifle primers, and if you are going to try BH - then you need a shotgun primer any.

The battery cups and are availble from PR bullet in Canada.

Here is what the seller said...

Then after some research i found out that the 209 primer used on most inlines was actually to hot and on detonation would push the bullet and sabot off the powder charge.causing the inconsistent shots.
So he bought the variflame kit from PR. They is nor real hard evidence to support the claim that the 209 willpush the bullet of before ignition of the powder. The variflame probably will not ignite BH either. It will ignite T7 and all the other subsbut so will a regular 209.
