I use to bea solid BB user and never had any problems with it, then when the blue T17 patches came out I started using them as they provided a much more even appllication of a natural lube. Then I switch to Slip 2000 a synthetic oil to provide that protection and reduce fouling.

After reading the information on M. X-Treme - thought i would give it a shot and at this point it is doing very well, but i really must say the jury is still out.

Do you normally shoot T7? If you do - do you regularly experience the 'crud ring' and/or excessive fouling?

I am thinking you may not but it would be interesting to know.

As for storage if you are storing for an extended time with BB as the protection in a humid climate - I would check your bore on a regular schedule.

I assume the MX will also reduce the fouling from BP and Pyrodex. Being that I rarely use T7. What do you think?

I can only make the same assumption. I did use it in my shot gun today while shooting trap - hoping to reduce some of the plastic fouling in the choke... and again the jury is still out...

I just bought 777 4 packs on sale at a local shop $20each, in hopes of shooting them in my Ph. But now with a alot of bad talk about it i wondering if i made a mistake. I only shot pyrodex before and maybe only 25 shots a sitting, and between shots wet-dry and never had a problem. So now with my new Genesis im lost on powder? Loose is cheap but pellets makes it easy on a hunter. Crud ring you call it.. im unaware what it looks like. I was brought up on pyrodex with my father and just never switched, he still uses RS even though i bought him a Blk diamond.. spilling a little each time. As hes getting older now i want him to shoot pellets so i was really looking towards the 777 to perform well and he would want to switch.

There is nothing wrong with Triple Seven. And if you swab between shots the crud ring (if it even forms in your rifle) will not be a problem. Use the pellets or loose, what ever you like. And swab between shots and just enjoy the rifle.

I really prefer T7to any of the Pyro's - it is normally cleaner and not near as corrosive...
