That is awesome!!! If that were a member of my family that picture would enlarged and be in a frame by the fireplace. By the way, not only is that a great looking deer, that's a great lookin' grandson you got there.

Had to show that pic to my grandson. He said, "Is that a real picture!?"

What I want to know, is how did that encounter end? Did the buck just turn and walk away or did you grandson vacate the area? :D

Like everyone else said. Great pic - I definately would have that enlarged and framed.
Grandkids are great. I often take mine for walks in the woods too. They really come up with some funny stuff out there.
Last year when he was 3 I took him with me to put up a tree stand. As we were walking through the woods he told me "There sure is a lot of stuff in our way." -referring to the fallen branches and low brush (I walked right over it butwith his little legs, he had to go around or move it.) And constantly jabbering, asking questions. But its the only way they will learn.

yes that is a real picture ..i also had to step forward between buck and grandson ,the bucks ears started to fold back in an aggressive mood ..when i approached he turned and just took off ..last year we were feeding the deer and a big old female got up on it's hind legs and with her front legs took a swing at my 10 year old granddaughter, missed her face by inches ..wild animals are unpredictable ,so now i stay close by .just in case..

Is that an 8 pointer? Nice photo and can't blame him for going, heck I had a massive 10 pointer come right up to me as I was getting in my truck this year, of couse all was packed up and I almost went in my pants as well.

That is a very good point. Wild animals even though through feeding or what ever, theybecome accustom to us, we need to remember... they are still wild animals. And there really is no way to judge how they will react.

I always think of a woman near me. She had raccoon all the time in her yard and at her back door. And she bragged about how tame they were, and how they sat in her lap and ate out of her hand. Then for no reason one day, one of them took a chunk out of her finger. She said there was no warning of the attack. She ended up getting rabies shots because of it.

I actually had to stop feeding birds in my yards. While I really enjoyed the birds, and spent hours watching them. Bears decided bird feed was real good to eat. At first it was interesting to watch them. Then they stated destroying the bird feeders, and appearing in the yard during the day when I was out doing every day chores. I never forget the day I was on the riding mower in the back yard and look to my side and there stood a large bear watching me. It really spooked me.

Those are great pictures though.
