Nikon BDC question

Given that many of the Nikon scopes come with the BDC option (Prostaff, Buckmaster, Omega, etc...), is it correct to assume that all of the scopes "match" the stated yardage of the Omega (100, 150, 200, 225, 250 yards)? Thanks in advance!

RE: Nikon BDC question

Depends on what charge and bullet you are using.A 460 conical with 80gr of powder will not print the same as a 250 SW with 3 pellets. But you can work it out by shooting at different ranges to see what your impact will be with the marks on the scope. Make sense?

RE: Nikon BDC question

Yes it does Charles...thanks!

Let's say I buy a Triumph, put a Nikon Buckmaster BDC 3x9x40mm on top of it and shoot the 3 pellet + 250 SW load. Will it then approximately match the Nikon Omega? I'm comfortable with the shoot and see procedure, but was wondering if a person could get the Nikon Omega scenario for less money (i.e. the prostaff or buckmaster).

RE: Nikon BDC question

Hammer-I have a Nikon Prostaff 3x9x40 on my Omega. Shooting a 260 Nosler with 105gr 777/3fg,I am sighted 3" high at 100 yds and can hold dead on out to 170 yds. I have no need for BDC.
