The lock plate has been inletted. The lock panel has to be thinned on each side about 3/16". The stock has a lot of extra wood that has to come off in a lot of areas... Good for carving stock.

Gap is the amount of depth the plate has to go into the stock yet...

Lock plate bolster tight against the barrel.. and square top to bottom also... Next to inlet all of the components... main spring, tumbler, bridle, sear spring, sear arm... etc etc...
