Can u help me identify this ML?

I got this today. It was my dads. I know he got in the 1980's but it doesnt say what model it is. It just says thompson center and 50cal. on the barrel. I was gonna order a new ramrod for it, but i dont know what model it is. I want to clean it up and pass it on to my son someday. Thanks Bob

pull the lock, is there a K stamped in there? Could be (Kit) Hawken.

It's a T/C Hawken, one of the most popular muzzleloaders of all time...

If you can't find a source for a ramrod online, give their customer service a call...

All you need to have is the barrel length, the ramrod is 3/8 diameter...

You might also try Track of the Wolf or Dixie Gun Works...

That is a Thompson Center Hawkins .50 caliber with a 28 inch barrel that is 15/16th on the flats. It has a 1-48 twist barrel and will shoot roundball, conical, and in some cases sabots. I would try 90 grains of Pyrodex Rs and a patched .490 roundball. A very nice rifle.

If you want a ramrod, Cain Outdoors sell Super Rods in 28 inches that cannot be broken, you will need a cleaning loading jag, a short starter, and some other things. You have a great rifle for hunting, shooting, and passing down to your son.

Well the guys are right. It is definately a T/C Hawken. Have fun with it and keep it clean. If you need help let us know.
Remember to clean it with black powder solvent or hot soapy water. Don't use a solvent for nitro powder.
