The shooting off of a primer is not all that big of a concern as far as rusting. I was told my a person big into reloading that the powder used in primers is non corrosive. This would mean if you had to shoot a primer off two days in advance before you load the rifle, there should be little harm in doing any damage to the rifle to let it sit there. If a reloader knows better, please speak up here.

The cleaning of the small breech plug port with a Q-tip just makes things a lot easier. And I have to agree with you, the Genesis is a very easy rifle to clean.

Dave the reloader is right just as long as you stick to the normal Brands, cci, remington, federal, and winchester. Some from China are as bad as black powder.

I love Cabela's, but they're not the cheapest place on powder either. Dunhams is about the cheapest I found the pyrodex pellets. It's around $22 for a box, and you can save another 10% if you have a Kroger plus, AAA card, etc.
