Triple 7 shelf life

I scored two boxes of Triple 7 powder for Christmas. The problem is it will take me 2 hunting seasons to use them all. How long will Triple 7 be good for? I store them in an air tight container.

I have several pounds going on four years old and still get the same POI.

Pretty much indefinitely, if it is truly kept dry. I have 6 year old pyrodex in my cabinet but I can't say my 777 ever lasts more than a year without being shot up.

Only open what you can use and keep it in the same containers it comes in. It will last a very long time if kept dry.

My uncle still has 50 pounds of Goex stored in an old fire engine outside that still ignites today after 20 years! Keep it sealed and it will last a long time.

I use 777 loose and place Saran Wrap over the top double thickness and use the seal that came with it. It is air tight.. It will last a long time like that. I keep mine in my garage, not humidity controlled, but very good for dryness. I make it a point to always put the cover back on quickly and make up speed loads for range sessions (I bought 50 powder loaders), that keeps the humidity out of the 777, which is the killer. I think for 777 pellets if you stored them in an air tight box or bag they would be OK. I don't think the box they come in is 100% air tight.
