Help me decide on a scope for my new Genesis
 

So I got the below pictured Remington Genesis "Buckmasters" for Christmas. I'm going to play around with it without a scope mounted for a little while but ultimately will end up mounting a scope. It's definitely going to be a Nikon so other brand scopes are out of the question. Since I can't post a poll here for some reason, please just post a reply with your opinion. It will be between thesefour scopes...

- Nikon Buckmaster 3-9X40 Nikoplex Matte(to match the Buckmasters Edition Genesis)
- Nikon Omega 3-9X40 Nikoplex Matte
- Nikon ProStaff 3-9X40 Nikoplex Matte
- Nikon Monarch 2-8X32 Nikoplex Matte

Any of them you can find on sale will do a good job. All of them IMO are top of the line scopes. Although I would check their specs and see what they have to eye relief..

I have a Nikon 3-9x Buckmaster on my Triumph. Before putting it on my Triumph I had it on my Savage ML 11. I've shot well over 500 rounds through it without a hitch. It's clear and gathers plenty of light. For around $200 it's a good scope. I've got a Alpen 4-12X on my Genesis. My son gave it to me. I think it runs about $125. I've only shot it a few times, so far so good. It's a clear scope also, with a lifetime guarantee.

I like the Leatherwood Hi-Lux Toby Bridges ML scope.I think they can be had for under &150.00

Well for what its worth, I have two rifle with Nikon Pro Staff 2-7x32mm scopes on them and could not be happier with them. The scope is tuff, good glass, and so far has taken a pounding and never complained. Holds true through all the on and off with the quick release rings it encounters. And was under $129.00 for them.

I have three rifles with Nikon Pro Staff scopes on them. Two using the 2-7x32mm and one with the 3-9x40mm. The 2-7 is all the power I need for hunting under 200 yards but the 3-9 was just too good of a deal to pass up in Cabela's Bargain Cave. I have used the Nikon scopes for about four years and just can't find anything not to like for the price.

Natchess is having a sale on Simmons Pro Hunter scopes right now. And they have some excellent prices. I have been shooting some of the cheaper Simmons scope without complaint, but these are like second to the top of the line. They have a 2-7x32mm for $59.00 which is cheap if the scope is any good. I don't need one, but am tempted to buy one to see if I can break it. :D

I don't like the 32 objective lens because better light gathering at 40. Honestly any of the Nikon scopes you mentioned are good and I would just look for an after Christmas sale and buy the one that is least cost. Nice looking rifle. It is fun to "put them together" so it shoots-----i.e. select scope, sling, bullet, sabot, powder, primer, etc.
