Quick release rings
Just wondreing if anybody has used regular weaver type rings, took the scope off and putit back on and checked the POI. I really don't see where the difference is between Q.R. and standard, except you can usethe levers to tighten and loosen theminstead of a screwdriver.

I am going to be trying that very thing as soon as the weather breaks... I bought another scope and want to mount it on my Genesis. BUT the Genesis has a scope mounted in solid weaver mounts. But it looks like I can turn them off with a dime.. so we will see.

I've never had a concern with the way the rings clamp to the base. In fact the Warne Quick Release are very good about returning to zero. I like weaver bases and Warne rings normally but I have found the traditions bases and rings of very good quality.

RE: Quick release rings
I have had the Weaver rings on my slug gun for years that have the crossbar and a knob with a screw slot to remove them. Never had the scope change zero, but I do not shoot MOA groups with a smooth bore 12ga either. I have shot deer at 110 yds though.
