Funky Buck

Hey guys. Check out this picture of a buck taken Saturday afternoon by one of the huntersin myclub.

We've been seeing him for the lastthree years and have a couple of pictures of him on game cameras. His horns stay in velvet and never drop off.
He had testicles about the size of peanut. We have a"five point or better" rule for bucks, but decidedto waive the rule for himthis year. He weighed 150 lbs.

That is ugly! So did the rack look the same every year? Do you have any idea why it is like that.

Definately the right call to take him out of the herd. He could not have bred any does because he has to have a lack of testosterone (as evidenced by his micornads and antlers) to have this kind of headgear.

BidDaddy: Bucks likethis (called cactus bucks or stags) NEVER shed their antlers, they just keep growing year round. When a normal buck sheds his antlers, his testiclesbecome smaller and bascially stop producing testosterone through the spring and summer while his antlers are growing. In September, the testiclesbecome larger again and start producing testosterone, which causes the antlers to harden and shed the velvet. When a buck, for whatever reason, loses his ability to produce testerone, his antlers will grow in velvet and never stop. They will become very freakish.
