I'm sure it could, but why? Conversions were normally done by installing a drum and nipple where the vent hole is and replacing the hammer and reworking the lock.( removng frizzen, pan, etc)

It can be done.. but for the hassel and problems, I'd just get another rifle.

Or, is it as simple as getting another lock and barrel? If so, that's what I would do, unless the price of a complete new gun was about the same.

Could get an other lock and barrel and have both. Lee

The only problem I have with another lock and barrel.. then you're always changing one over and one is sitting around in the corners of the gun closet. I have several Green Mountian Barrels I can change over to. I would much rather have them mounted on a rifle stock and lock, and just be able to grab them..

I've found that what Cayugad said holds true for me also, though I didn't expect it to. I have a .45, .50, and .54 barrel for my Renegade and it's an easy switch from one to the other - just pull the wedge pin. But I don't seem to do it very often. Seems the.54 barrel stays on it all the time.In fact, I've been looking for a cheap Renegade with a rusted "throw away" barrel to put the .45 GM LRHbarrel on.

I don't know why it's like that, but it is (at least for me).
