First deer taken with 250gr SST's!
After a long day of hunting in the hills,I spotted this deer from a little over 1/2 a milehiding in a small nook in a stack of round haybales. It looked as if he had been using it as a hide-out since our 16 day general rifle season just concluded. Made a long stalk and closed the distance to 15 YARDS! I took the only shot he gave me facing straight at me, so I can't report much on bullet performance, it passed straight through and the deer dropped right where he stood.

Nice buck - congratulations. Don't need a blood trail on that one. I love sneeking and stalking and think it is one of the more exciting ways to hunt.
Just curious - where exactly did the bullet enter and exit the animal? |

Great buck! I went muzzy hunting this past weekend and all the deer are still in hiding from gun season. Guess I'll have to find some hay.:D

Thanks for all the compliments guys. It took me 5 years to draw the tag. I did see a couple bigger bucks but could not close the distance. I have always been told never to pass up a buck early in the hunt you would be happy to tag the last day of the season!;)
