SS barrells vs. regular barrels.

How does clean up compare between the 2 types of barrels? I've heard many say that the SS are easier to clean up....but never heard WHY. Wasn't sure if it was a "BS" or true?????

HoosierHunter,

I clean my stainless the same way I clean my traditional with a browned barrel. The difference is after they are cleaned, I do not oil the stainless barrels. They don't need it.

Not much of a "friend" if he doesn't respect you or your rifle that he borrowed. I've always been of the mindset that if you borrow something, you return it promptly when done, and in the same or better condition than when you borrowed it. You don't necessarily need to discontinue your relationship, but I wouldn't loan him anything again if it were me. There are friends and there are buddies. He's not the former, IMO. At least you got it back in one piece and in decent condition. If the situation had been different and the rifle had been exposed to moisture, you'd have been scrubbing rust out of that bore and it'd look like the surface of the moon.
