Cva wolf owners...

First Happy Thanksgiving to all.........

I was wondering if any Wolf owners were shooting BH209 and how it was shooting ? Also what is working the best ?? Are you happy with it?? I let my nephew shoot my Endeavor at the range last week and he shot 3 times at a hundred in a small pie plate. He was amazed considering he was having trouble keeping his mossberg 20g in a big plate at 50yds with slugs. So i think i am gonna buy him a Wolf for Christmas. Thats all he has been talking about. Thanks Bob

THe Wolf is a great gun. I havent had mine for very long, but the couple times I have had it to the range I have been impressed. My hunting load for this year is going to be a 295 grain power belt hollow point, with 80 grains of Tripple Se7en loose powder. I am going to use the winchester 209 primers.

Love itr and it is not my primary inline. I use the Wolf for woods hunting , short range ooportunities. 80-85 grains loose T7 w/ 250 grain bullet. I did not have good luck shooting that gun beyond 100 yeards, i just figured the barrel was a bit short ofr it.

I have shot my Wolf with BH209 but really haven't gotten to work with it much before deer season. I look forward to more testing after the season. It shot fine and I think it will deliver a good group but I just ran out of time for testing. I also read on here (??maybe here) that there was some trouble with the CVA breech plugs and BH209 but don't hold me to that.

I use BH 209 in my wolf I have found 80 or 90 grains by volume seemed to work the best. I didn't see much difference in group sizes with either. I went with 80g by volume and a 250SST with Harvester SB sabot. Winchester w209 primers. I was the one who had the breech plug problem,CVA replaced it, I haven't had any problems again with the new one, but haven't shot any loads over 90 grains. Around 1 1/2" 5 shot groups at 100 yards with that set up. I really like my wolf. As stated here make sure you clean the end of the breech plug with a drill bit. Fouling really builds up in there. I'm pretty sure its the bit size just under 1/8" I think its 7/64".

Haven't tried BH in mine, but it does shoot well with 100gr pyrodex pellets and either a 250 gr Shockwave or a 245 gr ballistic tip Powerbelt. Same bullets with 90 or 100gr of Pyrodex RS works even better.
