Williams Peepsight
I just finished installing the William Peepsight on my CVA Wolf. If I remembeer right, I read something on here about leaving the rear sight on to, so you have 3 points to aim off, is this right? Or should I just take the rear sight off.

RE: Williams Peepsight
I would think it kind of detracts from the purpose of the rear peep sight, but if that is the way you like it, who am I to say different. I always took them off.

RE: Williams Peepsight
Thats what I thought too. The only reason I asked about it, was that I thought I had read someplace that some guys leave it on. I think I will be taking the rear sight off tho.

RE: Williams Peepsight
I took mine off too!

RE: Williams Peepsight
With time, you will learn to pull that rifle and you will not even notice that rear peep sight hardly. You will simply center that front sight, aim off it and fire. They really are an accurate way to shoot. The only reason I got away from them is I like the 1x scopes better and in low light, I had problems with target acquisition.

RE: Williams Peepsight
Never heard that.
I have heard that you can leave the rear sight on while installing the peep to align it before shooting. Line up the rear and front sight, then adjust and center the peep, then remove rear sight. You'll be very close if not dead on, if your irons were on that is. |
RE: Williams Peepsight
Maybe what you were reading was to leave the rear sight on until after you install the peep. Then you can adjust the peep to line up with the other two to get you close. Then you can remove the old rear sight.
