It would be my suggestion and only a suggestion, do not use the 'crush rib' unless you have to. I use a HPH-24 in my Omega, it is very snug and very accurate. But I should also say my Omega is an older gun and the bore is not as tight. When I shoot a 'crush rib' - it loads to easy and i do loose some velocity.

Thanks Sabotloader! FYI,I'm Cajun on Modern muzzleloader.com, I see you post there to. Back to sabots, I have an omega that I will be shooting them out of. I had slugged the barrel and it measured .501 which is tight. Would you still suggest the HPH-24?

For our muzzloader season I have to use conicals but I'm starting to work on finding a load that I can use my muzzloader with sabots for rifle season and maybe to shoot some coyotes. And also since the Omega shoots sabots better, I want a more accurate round for playing at the range.
Thanks for your input.

Nope! either the HPH-3p-Ez load or the 'Crush Rib' would probably work best....

Have you seen this photo chart...

Thanks! That helps. I do remember seeing that chart before but I wasn't looking for sabots at the time so I over looked it. I saved it for future reference.

Today I shot some 250 gr SST's with the red sabots that came with them, over 110gr T7 2F and got good grouping. I was shooting 50 yards, open sights. They were hard to load but managable. Do you know what sabot it is that comes with the SST's?
Thanks,

The SST with a red sabot should be the new'Low Drag' sabot which is a HPH-3p-ez load. So it sounds like you are going to need to use that one or the 'crush rib' to load your barrel
