Accuracy tip.

Guys, I forgot to mention this when I was out shooting the other day. The first time out with the Genesis, I was loading it with my fiberglass range rod with a spin jag. But as you know, loading the sabots takes a lot more pressure to load than lead conicals and that fiberglass rod was like trying to stick a nightcrawler back into its hole.
Well the next time out I used the stiffer ramrod that came with the Genesis and a screw on T handle. The first couple shots I noticed as I was loading that the sabot seemed to be 'skipping' down the barrel. Then I realized that the previous outing, the spin jag was allowing the bullet/sabot to follow the rifling down the bore. I Backed off on the t handle a little to make it loose and the 'skipping' stopped. Accuracy seemed to improve too because the sabot was grooved to the rifling.

Excellent point - I have been using the spin on my range rod for years now it is valuable tool.

I assume this is what you're talking about.I have experienced the same skipping feeling and I might have to try this. It seems a little expensive for that tool but I'm sure the accuracy is worth it.

That will work I have modified the length of my gun ram rods so that i can put these on and hunt with them. It does not swivel as easily as he true Spin-Jag but it works... and is less money..

I believe Cabela's has them for a bit less. I think something like $8. And they also have them in .45 cal. And look at it this way Gotbuck - you will have it forever. So even $12 aint bad. Heck I paid more than that for my marriage license - (still can't find the darn expiration date on that thing)

The SJ are too long, they stick out 3" and look stupid on a $30 power rod, gotta buy all new ram rods. Wish they made a ram rod with a spin jag on one end and a T handle power rod (all steel or aluminum) on the other.

That is exactly what I do - buy a solid aluminum ram rod cut to length and thread the cut end insert the jag of your desire...

Here is a TC super jaginstalled on an Omega ram rod - cut the rod and drilled and re-threaded...

Thanks guys I'm picking one up but will also pickup a new rod as you have to adjust the witness mark as the rod need to be shortened for the jag unless you guys do something else for your witness mark.

Gotbuck

The "witness mark"... if you shorten your current rod to install the TC Super Jag and you shorten it on the end that you normally put down the muzzle - your witness mark will not move if you end up with the same total length...

But, with all that said It might be wiser to install the new jag on a new rod, then you will always have the original - which might come in handy. Especially if you have 'Chap's' problem and leave them laying around in the woods....

Never got into tee handles. Carry a golf ball in my pocket that has a hole for the ramrod-works great.

ive heard the break easy, has anyone had anyone many problems with them?

I have found the tips break most often when they start un-threading themselves out of the ram rod. With any of the tips if you put them in tightly and if they stay that way most will not break.

They un-screw on the downward stroke - most often whe trying to seat a tight bullet...

having a jag that spins is nice but on my omega as well as my brothers optima i figured shooting side by side holes at 75 yards was acurate enough skip or no skip. i will probably buy one anyway:D
