Scouting day
 

Going out scouting today on my friends property. Gassed up the ATV and aired up the racing slicks on it. Should be ready for tomorrow AM. I have a lot of ground to cover so i will use the ATV rather than the slow moving horses. I'll see what i can find today. Mainly will just be searching for tracks and any recent activity.

Here in Missouri we had a cold front push through and the bucks are with does and responding to calls and rattling. Our opener is this saturday andI have seen an incredible 8 and 10 pointer taking up residence at my stand. I didn't go last week asI didn't want to push them out of the area. I guess that really doesn't matter if they are after the does but I'll see. Good luck to you.

Went to a few places and found some areas with a lot of deer and elk tracks near an area with water so i will try a couple tomorrow. I wont be hunting early morning due to all the traffic from the work trucks in the area, they shut down around 330pm so i plan on getting out there a couple hours before they shut down and set up.

Saw some deer today! No elk but i am headed back out now after coming home for a nap. Going to hunt a water area for the rest of the evening where the saw the deer and elk tracks. Cool outside today and no wind.
