Partition Gold (.429/250gr. or .451 260 gr)

Partition Gold (.429/250gr. or .451 260gr.) Which one????

I will be shooting this bullet in a T/C Omega and Endeavor. My question is, which bullet would you suggest and which sabot would you shoot with them. I am assuming that either the Harvester Green or the Green Crushed rib should work in both guns with the .429. Right? I have some of both. But, if I go with the .451, which sabot do you think would be best. I have a bunch of the Harvester ShortBlacks and some Harvester Red Crushed Ribs. Do you think I would need the Black Crushed rib. Here's a little info. Both guns shoot the Harvester short black and a250 gr. Shockwave real welland the Endeavor shoots the 200gr. shockwave with the supplied blue sabot as well as the 250gr. Any suggestions?

I personally have both bullets - but I use the .451/260 in a HPH-24 sabot in my Omega. The short black should work well also. I am thinking that the red crush rib will be to thick to get down...

The 260 is a great bullet - at the right range I would not hesitate shooting an elk with it at all....

It is my experience that the barrels that shoot well with the Harvester short black like the MMO HPH24 for bullets that don't shoot well with the short black. Mine also shoots the regular green, it takes a tighter barrel for the Crush Ribs, I used to use them before I lapped my barrels.
Unless you have an abnormally large barrel for a TC the Red Crush Ribs are over sized, I have some laying around that wont shoot in ant of my guns not even the Knight.
I like loads over 100grs and it seems to me that if you use heavy loads the bullets that are closer to bore size are more consistant groupers. Lee

I use Nosler 50096 sabots that I purchase from Midsouth. I am sure they are made by MMP.I shoot targets with Nosler #43013 45Colt/250 .451" I bought my 260 partitionsin 54 cal and switched sabots I only hunt with these. Both bullets impact the same with 110gr 777/3f These are the same bullet/sabot combinations thet Jim Shockey was promoting through Cabela's a few years ago. 10 partitions and 10 SHOTS plus a video for $19.99

So I guess everyone likes the .451 better? My Local gun shop has the .429's in stock but I don't want to get them if you guys think the .452' are better. Just wannt to know your opinion.
