RE: Prayer Request

Today is day 19
Kelly's sedation meds have been decreased form 70 to 35
she has her eyes open but is just staring at the wall.
No response from verbal commands.

I hate to se her suffer but I keep telling my self that it is Gods will and not mine.

When coal is subjected to time and pressure it turns to diamond
All the finest ingrediants for a gourmet meal are nothing untill they go through the fire.

I sometimes feel that she is losing her battle and ask God to take her home so there is no more pain but then I take it back.

I am at a loss

Scott,

That is one of the toughest places to be and I know you, like any father, would gladly take her place if you could. Just remember, God has a reason for this test of you and your family and, though we don't understand it yet, he will bring you through whatever lays ahead. I pray God blesses you and yours greatly in both healing and Peace that passes all understanding. Hang in there, it will get better.

Kelly has been through a lot but is clearly still fighting hard. I don't think it is unusual for her to be unresponsive, she's still under sedation and the mind can do strange things to protect itself when it is traumatized. Prayers sent that as they reduce the meds and a little time passes she begins to show just how strong she is and improves.

I know of a kid that injured himself severely in a trail bike crash. No helmet, broken back and other bones, plus fractured skull and serious brain injury.

It was very rough on the entire family for quite a while, but the kid is progressing VERY slowly and can now walk with little to no assistance, can talk, and can use both arms to some degree.

None of us know what tomorrow will bring us. The only way to live is to just keep on keepin' on with a positive outlook. If we dwell on the negative, we'd never get off the couch.

Kelly was awake when Karen came in the room and she smiled at her mother.
The meds are being decreased everyday and she is being proprd up.
I feel a little better but know we have a long way to go.
Karen said that there is life in her eyes and she is frustrated at not being able to talk.
Thank you God and all of you as well.

Sax

Baby steps... baby steps.... they are slow but a lot safer - keep the prayers and support comming.... I hope Kelly knows of the support system that you have mustered into place for here - she is part of the family...
